Nanovision – K-12 Outreach @ University of Washington
The Nanovision program is designed to teach students and their teachers the wonders of the microscopy world; starting with the magnifying glass, and moving up to light optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and, finally scanned probe microscopies. GEMSEC has mock up models for these instruments that the mentors demonstrate at the science museums (Seattle’s Pacific Science Center), science nights at elementary and high schools, UW open houses, and invites K-12 classes to GEMSEC’s Shared Experimental Facilities for real research demonstrations.
Application Deadline: June 17, 2011
