We have demonstrated the first ever hybrid polymer film of an insoluble polymer with an acid (top picture).

  • All other materials of this type are powdered ceramics.
  • On polymerization these two immiscible substances become miscible. This behavior is very rare and very rarely demonstrated by experiment.
  • The resulting films are transparent (bottom picture) and exhibit impressive proton conductivity (bottom right graph).
  • The films are also amorphous.
