Bowman Gives Symposium at Annual SACNAS Conference
Center PI Christopher Bowman gave a talk titled "Introduction to Photopolymerizations: From Mummification to Nanotechnology" at the annual national conference for the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans (SACNAS) held in Denver in September 2005.

Advances in Scientific Computing 2007
In part to honor the 65th birthday of Todd Dupont next fall, a four-day scientific meeting will be held at the University of Chicago, 6-9 September, 2007. This meeting will be organized around four major themes: Interface computation, Reduced dimension models, Inverse Problems, and Optimization Reliable computation. The scientific committee consists of Dupont, Bruce Ayati (SMU), Anette (Peko) Hosoi (MIT), Qing Nie (UC-Irvine) and Qiang Du (Penn State).

Materials Research Outreach Symposium at UCSB - February 3-5, 2010
We are proud to announce the Materials Research Outreach Program (MROP 2010) Symposium will be held February 3-5, 2010 at the UCSB Corwin Pavilion. As in past years, it will comprise two consecutive programs. The Macromolecular Outreach Program (MOP) Symposium, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday morning, will focus on research efforts concerned with the science and engineering of organic-based macromolecules and polymers. The Inorganic Materials Program Symposium will be held on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

Squishy, Gooey, Stretchy: The Science of Making Pizza: A Holiday Lecture for Children and Their Parents
Join us at the 2007 Harvard Holiday Science Lecture as we observe, touch, taste, and explore some of your favorite foods. Kids, families, students, teachers and the curious are welcome! You'll discover the physics, chemistry and biology of cheese and bread, look at them under a microscope, taste the cheese we make (yum!), and learn about digestion (yuck!). Using live experiments and interactive demonstrations with children from the audience, we will investigate the wonders of pizza. Come and be a scientist with us!
